Gifts in wills have already helped to save nearly 32,000 babies’ lives since 1991. But there’s still much more we can and must do for families. 

Writing a will is, first and foremost, a chance to take care of the people you love; it’s the kindest way to look after family and friends after you’re gone.

It’s also an opportunity to continue making an impact, by supporting causes that mean a lot to you. If you choose to leave a gift to The Lullaby Trust, you’ll help create a world where no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly and every grieving family gets the support they need. No gift is too small – even a 1% share of your estate could help to save a life.

    I have been fundraising for The Lullaby Trust and raising awareness of the impact of SIDS on families since we lost our son, Ellis, in 2003. When it was time for my husband, Jim, and I to put together our wills, it felt right to leave a legacy gift to The Lullaby Trust. They have been there for me. This will be the last gift I could give them for being a constant in my life since Ellis.

    My daughter is an IVF baby so whilst I was overjoyed to be pregnant I was also very anxious about her wellbeing... Every time I put her down to sleep I worried that something would happen.     I am leaving my estate to my 2 living children so it did not feel right to not leave something to honour my 3rd child, Max. I have left 2%, which doesn’t sound a lot but it’s a % of a house so hopefully will make a difference.     Leaving a gift in your will to a charity can offer significant tax benefits. If your gift is worth 10% of your estate or more, you will reduce your overall rate of inheritance tax from 40% to 36%.

    The experts at Octopus Legacy will review your will within 10 working days.

    Step 4

    After you’ve received your will, please check it and sign it to make it legally binding.

    Step 5

    If you wish to update your will, you can for free within the first year of making it.
